There is a dangerous belief instilled within many women that she would have to compromise her femininity and her relationships, and work twice as hard in order to be successful.
Gina DeVee has made it her mission to shift this archaic business dogma by empowering women entrepreneurs worldwide to find their direction, so that they can unleash the greatness within them for that “something big and special” they secretly believe they are meant for.
An internationally acclaimed life and success coach, Gina is the founder of The Academy: International Business & Coaching Certification for Women, which features an applicable, powerful, and effective structure to help entrepreneurs achieve the legendary lives and luxurious lifestyles that they deserve, without guilt or self-doubt.
“A woman’s self-betrayal is the greatest devastation she can bring onto herself,” she has expressed in one of her videos, where she is known to share her personal stories and obstacles to inspire her followers.
In another video, she challenged the status quo. “Take success but don’t let it trump your desires. If you decide to be a mother and travel, and make 1 million, start a charity, and be on TV – that doesn’t make you a workaholic. It makes you you, because those desires are there.”
Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Gina thought she would move to New York City and become an actress, as that was the only outlet where she then knew she could express herself.
But she was told, as many of us, that the college-then-job route was the way to go, and so Gina decided to major in Clinical Psychology, hoping to help people lead better lives through her work.
Which she did – dealing with teens and young adults with conditions such as depression, eating disorders, anxiety and addictions. Through her determination, hard work and perseverance, Gina even earned work experience at the White House, the Supreme Court and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
But then one day she realized that all that toiling could not even afford her a pizza.
“Nobody died, and nobody lost a limb, but it was awful. I was working so hard to get clients and it was just exhausting. One Sunday night I was feeling sorry for myself and decided to treat myself to a pizza. Before placing my order, I checked my account balance, only to find I didn’t even have enough money to order a pie. I’d hit an all-time low.”
That’s when Gina decided that it was time to completely shift the way she viewed work, success, and living. Through a personal recommendation, she ventured into an industry that was then alien to her – online marketing.
“My self-confidence was shot. I was faced with the choice to either take the leap into internet marketing or go work at Vons. I went online and was fascinated by what I found. People were making millions online selling e-books about things as crazy as grooming guinea pigs. Here, I thought, was an opportunity to do something new and make some real money for a change.”
Using her new insight and her education, Gina regained her self-worth, found value in the services she could offer and focused on what she loved — “empowering modern-day women to be Queens of their lives.”
Within two years of selling her collection of coaching CDs a, she was making over a half million dollars.
Today Gina is living her luxurious life of having it all, as an entrepreneur, coach, speaker, and even a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef.
“You can have a 6 or 7-figure business that is aligned with your true values and your true self. You can upgrade your life, the home you live in, the car you drive, the clothes you wear – to all reflect the Queen you really are.”
And she is adamant on helping other women to overcome their doubts, shift their beliefs, and find their clarity, so that they too can embrace and attain the new definition of the woman entrepreneur.
“When you get how powerful you are to absolutely claim, declare, decide, own, and not allow anything other than all of your desires in your life to happen, that is the consciousness of the new woman entrepreneur. That is tapping into being very relevant and present with the times here.”
